The Lord’s Church in Blackfoot welcomes you….

We are glad you are visiting our web site and encourage you to make use of the materials we publish in your personal studies.
Blackfoot Church of Christ is a congregation of disciples of Christ seeking to follow the bible pattern delivered by the apostles in all aspects of our life and congregational work. (Col. 3:17; Php. 3:17;  2 Tim. 1:13). We seek to grow closer to God by  the study of His word (2 Tim. 2:15) and prayer (1 Thess. 5:17). As we are excited about the great news that has been delivered once and for all (Jude 3) We would love to assist you in any way we can as you seek to learn more about God and His will for you.
The Bible
We read in 2 Tim. 3:16-17 that ALL scripture is given by inspiration of God (Meaning God breathed) and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.(NKJV) So not only is the scripture inspired of God, but as the Lord is perfect, so is His word, and so we live off of EVERY word that proceeds from the mouth of God (Matt. 4:4). So even though the world around us changes, the word of God will never Change (1 Pet. 1:24-25) And so in His word, and only in His word, can we find comfort. (Prov. 30:5; Gal. 1:6-10) So we seek a “Thus says the Lord” for all that we do individually and as a congregation of God’s children.
We also recognize that the first 39 books of the Bible are apart of the Old Law (or the old testament, aka the law of Moses) and the last 27 books of the bible are of the Law of Christ (Which is a new covenant, or the New testament. Heb. 9:15-17)
The Gospel
The Gospel means good news, and it is the power of God unto salvation. As it says in Rom. 1:16-17 For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, :The just shall live by faith.” As Jesus commands His disciples to preach the gospel to all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that He commands (Matt. 28:18-20) And right after this we see the apostles doing that very thing. (Acts 2:38-41) As we also see that God revealed His will to the apostles in 1 Cor. 2:9-10. Also as Christ was praying for His apostles turns His attention to those who WILL hear (Meaning us) through their words (Speaking of the apostles words who are the inspired words of God.) (John 17:20.)
We want to Help
We are a group of Christians striving to live godly in the world (Tit. 2:11-13) As we also see in 1 Pet. 1:16 we have the command to be holy as the Lord is holy. Now this is not to say that we are perfect but rather we are striving for perfection. We strive to be a christian as is defined in the greek word as being Christ like, of being like Christ. So as Christ was perfect in all points (Heb. 4:15) so we strive to do the same. So with that we invite you to worship the Lord the same way the 1 century church worshiped God, serving the Lord under the authority of His word. As we are commanded not to add to nor take away from His word. (Gal. 3:15; Rev. 22:18-19) If you would like more information about this congregation, or you would like to have a bible study, please let us know, as we would love to assist you any way we can.
