Portraits of God’s Leaders
Introduction to the series:
During my secular career there was a common tendency was to pick the most productive employee and “reward” them with a promotion. This promotion is often received with great joy but then the day comes when it becomes obvious that they cannot perform in this role. This formerly high performing employee is not a high preforming leader. At times we even find that this formerly high performing employee is terminated because they are unable to perform in their new role.
Similar events occur in the bible and even in the church today. It is not that we look to the world to determine what church leadership is to look like, but there are certainly lessons about leaders that can be learned. In this series of lessons, we will consider the attitude required of a Godly leader and the actions of certain of His leaders. We will consider what made them successful and what lead to failures. Ultimately, we want to mimic the attributes that make one a Godly leader.
